Throckley Jobs & Skills Fair is now on Thursday 24th September 2020.

We once again thank the exhibitors and people who have registered a free space so far as they have been really flexible, moving the date to September. Exhibitors so far include; Bell Group Ltd., MPCT, Royal Navy, Sainsbury’s, Princes Trust, Newcastle UXL and Healthworks. Many more have said they will exhibit from colleges to retail, training and financial.

Our First virtual weekend enterprise club – free to attend!

Upstart Enterprise is well known for delivering afterschool enterprise clubs develop entrepreneurial skills, increase confidence and focus on selling, pitching and smart thinking. The clubs (normally paid for by parents and Grant applications) run a 7 week enterprise programme which often ends with a dragons den style pitching contest. It’s not business as normal – Covid 19

More of us are now working from home and vital community centres in the most disadvantaged communities have had to close.

2020 sees Upstart’s delivery of more Enterprise in disguise projects in Newcastle

We are delighted to have been awarded funding to deliver more ‘Enterprise in disguise’ community action projects across Newcastle.

We’re kicking off with a jobs and skills fair in Throckley on Thursday 30th April, followed by a further jobs and skills fair in Fawdon in June 2020.

Upstart Enterprise has a proven track record in delivering quality afterschool and during school clubs to years 5-8 (ages 9-13). Funding is hard to come by for running these clubs in deprived areas of Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumberland. Sponsoring a club can be great for company CSR and by doing so your staff can even get involved in the process, without being too taxing on their time.

We’re really pleased to be working with a group of volunteers in Benwell in Newcastle. It’s on a launch of new office spaces at Carnegie Building. The office spaces lend themselves well to like-minded charities and social enterprises who want a Newcastle base.

Shy bairns get nowt – Throckley jobs fair 2019

Community Lottery Awards for All enabled us to work in Throckley in 2019.

We worked with community volunteers who identified a need for a jobs and skills fair for the young unemployed and returners to work which attracted over 80 visitors.
